Temenos

TemenosTemenos may be a new term to you and it is my privilege to share it with you. Temenos is grounded in the power of our ability to tell and learn from our own stories and the stories of others. It creates a “container” (the Greek meaning of Temenos) of safe space to explore and understand out past influences and acknowledge patterns of success and self-sabotage and activate a personal vision for our future.

I have participated in several retreats and each time I came away having made a profound leap in self-awareness and personal power, as have the other people involved. It is that consistent outcome that led me to train with Siraj Sirajuddin, the founder of Temenos, and his partner, Susan Gibson, so that I can share this powerful empowerment process with others.

influencemapTemenos Vision Lab is a technique that awakens an individual’s true intuition towards life. We believe “Your real self is hiding somewhere, as have the other people involved. Look for it within. When you find yourself you are free to be what you want to be.”

In the language of Temenos, we call every relationship a “Container”. We live our lives as the actors of difference containers. Each of these has needs and responsibilities. So, there is a need for deep understanding of yourself and the containers to which you belong.

The process is framed in three rounds, each round consisting of three steps:

• Introspection through journaling
• Visualization through drawing
• Articulation through telling

personalvisionThe three rounds are:

Personal Mythology is the process of remembering the people and events that have shaped the story of your life thus far. It is a process of recalling memories to trigger buried awareness and realization.

Clean Slate identifies the patterns of sabotage that contribute to your making the decisions that you make. Especially those “I don’t know why I do what I do,” decisions. It reveals the obstacles or the ill reasons that have been dragging down your personal development.
